2000 E320 Mercedes 4 matic station wagon. My mechanic says 10,000 but he changes his cars at 3 and 5,000. My husband says let it go and the shop will let you know when it needs it? He just blew an engine is his car last year because the oil was gone, so I don’t take his advise where cars are concerned. Your help is greatly appreciated.

every 5,000 miles or every 3 months (roughly)
Answer by Frogie
Any time you want. Some cars like the corvette come with synthetic oil from the factory. I’ve been told once you put synthetic oil in your car or truck you can’t go back to using regular oil. Most factory’s recommend that you change every 5000 miles using synthetic oil. Some say every 7000 miles. Anywhere in between should be okay.
what is the term for a car door window that has one piece of glass that goes up-down and a second that is hinged to stationary. i have seen these on old station wagons and 63-67 corvettes, but i can’t think up the correct name for it.
Answer by Skull

I don’t think people should buy Corvettes and 911s if all they’re going to do if drive to and fro from work slogging around in traffic. What do you guys think? Shouldn’t you buy a car that fits the purpose of what you’re doing? If you’re going to buy a sports car buys a sports car thats built for the road like an RX-8 or a Mustang.
Answer by minicooperlover2
An RX8/ Mustang is just as much of a ” sports car” as any corvette or 911. A car is a car. The purpose of a car is to move a person from point A –> point B. I don’t see any reason whatsoever why a corvette or porsche cant be used as a commuter. I think you are basing this more on price then ” sport car”
Answer by Mustanger
For the same reason that people drive jacked up jeeps and 4WD trucks when they never go off road. The sports cars make more sense than those monsters which blind you with their out of adjustment lights and the ‘looking for a place to roll over’ suspensions.

For the same reason they buy 4 wheel drive and never go off road. Status, and because they want to.
